iPads and Glogster and Moodle, Oh My!:Tips for Incorporating Emerging Technology into Your School Library While Retaining Your Sanity
This presentation will be a combination of practical tips, short demonstrations, and examples of personal experiences on how to create a dynamic, technology-driven library environment.

I am the Director of Media Services at Moravian Academy Middle School, which currently has a one-to-one iPad program for 7th and 8th grade. The entire middle school will be using iPads next year. I will discuss my experiences with iPads and the potential role that tablets have for enhancing library skills as well as limitations. I will also share individual apps that have enhanced my library program.

In addition, I will be discussing a variety of internet-based tools including Moodle, EasyBib, and Glogster that are being incorporated into my school's information literacy skills curriculum. I intend to give a brief demonstration of these tools, as well as tips on how to chose Web 2.0 tools that will add substance to your own library program.

Finally, I would like to share concrete techniques for both teaching these tools to other faculty and developing a support network for the educators at a school. This will help ensure that technology enriches a lesson without intimidating and frustrating teachers.
